Sharing is caring to the extreme
so share a shower with friends
saves water
drips from the shower head
powered ahead, full blast
warm from the tap
I came back to find
the kitchen was flooded
I stood in shock
I made an accident waxxident!
(H-h-honey? Jimmy made an accident waxxident)
The sun was stunned in its shell
it hit the earth like a penny
dropped in a wishing well
I tried to fish a wish out of the wishing well
but I fell in the well and landed on a fish
I wish I hadn't had an accident waxxident!

I. Table for one in this sterile light
with a window to talk to
I ordered a plain glazed
so I wouldn't be loitering
The realization of my futility stared at me
from the bottom of a cup of ice water
I couldn't sit comfortably
cause the guy at the counter was looking at me funny
Not in education, employment, or training
oh, what a life
I never wanted it to be this way
but here it is
I read the writing on the wall
it was full of names and obscenities
scrawled in bright colors
vivid yet decrepit
II. Silly me, I'm in the city
and this is just some old graffiti
and it's no more meaningful now
than any plan I ever had for myself
I never wanted to be this way, a mindless pawn
I never wanted to have to hold on for this long
I never wanted to be this far gone
it's all wrong, it's all wrong, it's all wrong
III. And as I sing to the half eaten doughnut
I get a text from miles away
from someplace where I'll never be
at least not till I finally stand up
For now i'll take solace in my
N. E. E. T. brothers
I never wanted it to be this way
but here it is

Alarm bells don't go off in my head like they used to
I broke my moral compass flying somewhere up there
futility for the sake of utility's not what I'm used to
sitting back here turning knobs and pushing buttons
See the world I chose
No time for second thoughts, no patience for second chances
I'm spinning through the sky as my ancestors spun in their graves
I see disapproving faces in the clouds
I'm spitting at the feet of former slaves
See the world I chose
Sometimes
I start to think
things aren't quite right
Everything
will be all right
I hope so, anyway
